Jobs Report - Last Friday, the president, flanked by cabinet members, delivered his monthly statement on employment statistics in the White House Rose Garden. The unemployment rate rose from 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent in August. But private employers added 67,000 jobs that same month; more than 20,000 more than had been expected.
