Obama Speaks to Black Voters - During recent rallies, President Obama has made a special appeal to Black voters, urging them to head out to the polls in November. Remembering a Legend - On Sunday, the president released a statement recognizing the achievements of late gospel great Albertina Walker who passed away Friday. “Ms. Walker was known for her Grammy Award winning voice and recognized by many as the ‘Queen of Gospel,’” he said. “Though we have lost an American icon, her influence on gospel music will continue for generations.”

Transportation Meeting - On Monday, the president met with transportation officials to discuss ways of improving the system. “We need a new plan for America’s roads, rails and runways for the long term,” the president said. “Over the next six years, we will rebuild 150,000 miles of our roads – enough to circle the world six times.” Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and former Secretaries of Transportation Norman Mineta and Samuel Skinner joined Obama.

Young Entrepreneurs - On Tuesday afternoon, President Obama met with finalists from the NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in the Oval Office. The students (some of whom are still in high school) all started their own businesses and beat out thousands of other young people to prevail in the competition.

College Town Hall - Tuesday evening, Obama will host a “Moving America Forward” town hall meeting at Washington D.C.’s George Washington University. The event is sponsored by the school’s DNC.

The event, which will air at 4PM/3C, will feature an audience of about 250 diverse young people and the president will answer questions on a wide range of topics. MTV’s Sway Calloway, BET’s April Woodard and CMT’s Katie Cook will moderate the discussion.

Delaware Visit - The president and vice president will head to Wilmington, Del. on Friday to attend an event for the state’s U.S. Senate candidate Chris Coons.

Friday - Today, President Obama will head to Boston to hold an event about the economy, and then attend a fundraiser for Governor Deval Patrick later on. Obama will then travel to Stamford, Connecticut to attend a fundraiser for Senator Christopher Dodd. Afterward, Obama will return to Washington, D.C.
