According to the police, when they arrived on the scene Doucet, a model and former college football player, was naked and jumping on  parked cars. After a struggle, the LAPD says an officer pulled out his gun and shot, killing him.

Steele: GOP Wants to Help Blacks - Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele told an audience that his party wants to help the Black community but African Americans need to do a better job of depending on themselves and not the government to create opportunities. Steele received a warm welcome from hundreds of Black activists at the annual meeting of the National Action Network, an organization founded by the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Steele Out at as GOP Chairman - On Friday, the Republican National Committee ousted chairman Michael Steele, who had been the first African American to hold that position. Though facing a growing list of detractors, Steele put up a fight until almost the very end; dropping out only halfway through the voting when it was clear he couldn’t win. Wisconsin Republican Reince Priebus ended up being elected.

90 Pregnancies at Memphis High School - Frayser High School in Memphis, Tenn. is experiencing a baby boom, as almost 90 students are either pregnant or recently had a baby. A city official recently confirmed the news recently, as the community plans  to find a way to stop the trend. At between 15 and 20 percent, the teen pregnancy rate in Memphis is twice the national average. And, in the particular zip code where the high school is located, the rate is a startling 26 percent, The Chicago Tribune reports.

In December, the rapper, now 36, entered a police precinct and confessed to shooting and killing someone – though he didn’t know at the time that the person had died. According to Dep’s lawyer, the plea allows time for both parties to see if a plea deal could be reached.

Lawrence Taylor is Sued - Former NFL star Lawrence Taylor, who was recently charged with raping a 16-year-old runaway, is being sued over a Florida car crash last year where he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. The lawsuit filed Wednesday in Miami-Dade Circuit Court says 51-year-old Manuel Villari Castillo suffered life-altering injuries and loss of income because of the Nov. 8 accident, when Taylor hit a van. The lawsuit seeks over $15,000 in damages.

L.T. Pleads Guilty - Former NFL great Lawrence Taylor pleaded guilty Thursday in a New York courtroom, admitting to paying a 16-year-old runaway prostitute for sex. As a result, Taylor, 51, has to serve six years’ probation and register as a sex offender. “She told me she was 19,” he said in court. Taylor was arrested last May after the teen’s uncle called local police. Sentencing will occur in March.

Williams came to the decision after his taping for the “Dr.Phil” show where he talked to the host and his own family members about his addictions.
