After what must have been a few of the tensest hours yet in the Obama White House, First Lady Michelle Obama blew off a little steam during a surprise visit to Washington, D.C.'s Alice Deal Middle School Tuesday (May 3) afternoon to participate in a “Let’s Move” event.
The First Lady busted her moves to a re-mixed version of “Get Me Bodied,” which Beyoncé recorded for a “Let’s Move Flash Workout” video to support Obama’s campaign to reduce childhood obesity.
“Beyoncé is one of my favorite performers on the planet. And when she agreed to remake her video and do this ‘Let’s Move’ flash workout, I was so excited because this is what we’ve been talking about—that exercise and moving can be fun.”
Initially Obama said that she would just watch the children do the workout since she hadn’t yet mastered the video’s moves and didn’t want to embarrass herself. But she simply couldn’t resist joining in and did the routine not once, but twice.
