President Obama’s thick skin and cool head came in handy once again as he was heckled Monday night during a fundraiser in Los Angeles. The incident took place at a benefit concert at the House of Blues that as many as 1,500 people were expected to attend. The president held seven fundraisers on the West Coast in the past few days.
Soon after Obama began speaking, a bearded young man in the front row began shouting and disrupting the event.
“Christian God is the one and only true living God, the creator of Heaven and the Universe,” he said.
The president stopped speaking and looked slightly uncomfortable as the crowd tried to drown out the heckler with shouts of “Four more years!” as he was dragged out of the venue by Secret Service agents. He did try to laugh it off, and said that he agrees, “Jesus Christ is the lord.”
Meanwhile, someone had thrown a jacket toward the stage, which Obama mistakenly assumed belonged to the young man, who continued to shout “Jesus Christ is God!” and asked the agents to make sure he left with the jacket, which as it turned out, belonged to a woman at the event.
“Oh, wait, that’s hers. Somebody’s car keys are in there, too. We’re having all kinds of confusion here. Oh, goodness gracious. Don’t leave your jacket around like that,” he said.
The heckler, who was still being escorted out yelled, “Jesus Christ is God; Barack Obama is the AntiChrist!”
When he was finally gone, the president said, “Alright, where was I? It’s good to be back in L.A.”
