The genteel Secretary of State John Kerry is the last person one expects to be seen hanging with hip hop aficionado Snoop Dogg, who, in addition to his music, is well known for his penchant for things "sticky and icky" and sometimes illegal.
But as seen in a video Snoop posted on Instagram Thursday, the odd couple bonded during a White House reception for the Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month. They're heard giving props to the legendary musician Herbie Hancock, in whose honor Snoop performed that night at the awards ceremony, for inventing hip hop. They ended their conversation with a fist bump, initiated by Kerry — much to the joy of Vice President Joe Biden.
"Ooh, he gave you the pound!" the vice president can be heard saying in the background.
Snoop posted a tweet about the exchange Thursday, which the secretary re-tweeted, no doubt upping his cool factor exponentially.
