Immigration

Barack Obama: Obama has called for Congress to develop comprehensive immigration reform legislation that would include giving young people who were illegally brought to the U.S. by parents or other family members opportunities to earn citizenship.

Newt Gingrich: During a national security debate, Gingrich supported limited amnesty for longtime illegal immigrants who’ve established roots and families in the U.S.

Mitt Romney: Romney opposes any path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, except for those who’ve served in the military.

Rick Santorum: Santorum believes that illegal immigrants are criminals who are constantly in violation of the law from the start of their unlawful entry into the country. He strongly opposes allowing illegal immigrants to pay in-state college tuition and has called for a fence to be built along the U.S.-Mexico border.
