Delegate Count: Republican Presidential Primary Update

As predicted, Mitt Romney won the Wisconsin primary and 30 of the 42 delegates, but things could easily have gone the other way. In the closest of the three contests held Tuesday, the former Massachusetts governor bested rival Rick Santorum by only five points with 43 percent of the votes. And while Romney ignored his GOP rivals and targeted President Obama in his victory speech, it’s tight races like this that fuel Santorum’s desire to stay in a race he ultimately won’t win. Rep. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich took third and fourth place, respectively.
