Strong Arm Tactics Work Both Ways

Retail giant Walmart is threatening to walk away from plans to build three stores in Washington, D.C. The reason is opposition to a proposed D.C. law requiring retailers with revenues of $1 billion or more to pay a minimum "living wage" of $12.50 per hour. It was looking like D.C. council members might actually cave, Think Progress reports, but in the end passed the living wage bill.
