Chris Hailey, Sheriff, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina 

Chris Hailey, a former member of the Raleigh Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, is running to become Mecklenburg County sheriff in 2014. Currently director of public safety training at Central Piedmont Community College, he first ran for the office in 2010, receiving more than 83,000 votes.
