U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon struck down the National Security Agency's controversial collection of all dialing records of all phone calls in the U.S. He ruled that it violates the Constitution's ban on unreasonable searches. Leon, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, also is giving the government time to appeal, so for now the mass data collection will continue.
