The Senate is expected to pass a bipartisan bill on April 7 that would extend the emergency unemployment benefits that expired in December. It is a short-term solution but senators are working on a longer-term plan. In addition, individuals who lost the benefit at the end of last year would receive retroactive checks. Unfortunately, the bill is DOA in the House.
