Charles Barkley Says Firing Caddie Was Last Straw With Tiger Woods

Charles Barkley and Tiger Woods have gone from BFFs to not speaking in the last two years.

Charles Barkley has seen golfer Tiger Woods take quite a few missteps in the last couple of years, but the one that seems to bother him most is the recent firing of longtime caddie Steve Williams.

"It's been very frustrating to watch everything that has transpired," Barkley said Wednesday on ESPN New York 1050's The Mike Lupica Show, "and getting rid of Steve Williams was probably the last straw for me."

Apparently, Woods had reached his last straw with Barkley two years ago. That’s how long it has been since the once good friends have talked.

Woods distanced himself from Barkley shortly after his infamous blowup with his ex-wife when it was revealed he was having multiple affairs. There was some speculation that Michael Jordan and Barkley had been bad influences on Woods.

Barkley insists that wasn’t the case.

"It was interesting sitting back and listening and hearing me and Michael corrupted him, [yet] we knew none of this stuff was going on," Barkley said on the radio show.

Barkley questioned many of the decisions Woods has made as of late. But Barkley is left only to speculate what might be Woods’ problem. It’s not clear whether Woods has also distanced himself from Jordan, as well, but Barkley sure made it sound as though he has.

"I'm sitting back like everyone else and saying, what the hell is going on? I just feel sad, to be honest with you," Barkley said. "You're like, dude, who is around this guy, who has his back, who has his best interest, who doesn't want anything from him? I don't know why we haven't talked to him in a couple of years."
