Michelle Obama Attends CIAA Centennial Celebration

First Lady Michelle Obama hit Charlotte on March 3 to attend the 100-year anniversary celebration of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the oldest African-American athletic conference in the country, in conjunction with her Let's Move fitness campaign.

First Lady Michelle Obama was on hand in Charlotte on March 2 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the oldest African-American athletic conference in the country. Founded in 1912, the CIAA consists of Historically Black Colleges and Universities spanning the east coast from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. She also hosted an event in conjunction with her Let’s Move! campaign against childhood obesity, which marked its two-year anniversary in February.
