The angry fans wanted to watch the game, not Obama's address to mourners in Newtown.
They never learn. A University of North Alabama football player has been kicked off the team for tweeting a racist rant against President Obama Sunday night. Bradley Peterson was upset that NBC had pre-empted Sunday Night Football to air President Obama's speech at a vigil for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
"Take that n****r off the TV, we wanna watch some football!" he wrote.
In response, athletic director Mark Linder, sent a tweet thanking users for bringing attention to the tweet. "@UNAAthletics does not condone. He is no longer a member of the team," he tweeted.
Sadly, Peterson wasn't the only football fan posting profane and racist messages, Mashable reports.
"Obama you stupid sand n****r get off my tv. Your just making the families hurt and miss their kids more and I want to watch football," was one of several posted.
