Robert Griffin III Fined $10,000 for Adidas Outfit

A partnership between the NFL and Nike bans players from wearing "unauthorized apparel" during team events.

Robert Griffin III is $10,000 poorer thanks to a fashion flub he committed at a post-game news conference last week.
The Washington Redskins quarterback wore an Adidas T-shirt and jacket, a move that angered the NFL. The league signed into a $1.1 billion exclusive partnership with Nike this past spring. The agreement requires that players wear Nike "on-field apparel including game uniforms and base layer, as well as sideline personnel apparel and fan gear."

RGIII was out for the game due to a knee injury, but was fined for attending the conference wearing items from his sponsor Adidas, which was considered "unauthorized apparel."

In September, he also received a warning after blacking out the Nike swoosh logo on his undershirt by writing the word "HEART" over it.
