Miami police are looking into an alleged incident involving the San Francisco 49ers quarterback and two other NFL players.
San Francisco 49ers superstar quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being investigated for an alleged sexual assault in Miami on April 1, TMZ Sports is reporting. Also being investigated for the alleged incident are 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette.
According to an information report released to TMZ by the Miami Police Department, Patton and Lockette are being questioned for the alleged incident, which took place at Lockette’s apartment in Miami. Sources told TMZ that the alleged victim later went to the Viceroy Hotel in Miami.
Kaepernick was hanging out with Lockette at a nightclub in Las Vegas just two weeks ago, only days before the alleged sexual assault took place, also according to TMZ, which has posted a picture of the NFL players together.
No charges have been filed against anyone at this point as the investigation is still very much in its beginning stages.
"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts,” 49ers general manager Trent Baalke told TMZ.
Just last month, Baalke told CSNBayArea.com that the 49ers have intentions to sign Kaepernick to a long-term deal.
