Boxing superstar takes record to 46-0 with majority decision.
Marcos Maidana's strategy was simple — maul Floyd Mayweather, push him up against the ropes, make the fight dirty, and swing for the fences with a relentless barrage of wild hay-makers.
For the first six rounds of Saturday night's fight, Maidana did just that, even managing to open up a cut over Mayweather's right eye with an accidental head butt.
But by the seventh round, Mayweather made the necessary adjustments and moved the fight to the middle of the ring, peppering Maidana with stiff right jabs and finding his right cross en route to a majority decision victory over Maidana. The win came before a sellout crowd, including Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber, both of whom led Mayweather out to the ring, and French Montana, Khloe Kardashian and Meek Mill, at MGM Grand Arena.
With the win, Mayweather improves his record to 46-0, vowing that he's not done with boxing yet despite saying that he contemplates retiring from the sport daily.
