J.R. Smith Takes Shot at Knicks After Cavs Eliminate Bulls

Shooting guard reminds ex-team how he and Iman Shumpert are up right now.

J.R. Smith is kicking the New York Knicks while they're down...and he's up. [Drake voice] How about now?

After Smith and the Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Chicago Bulls via a 94-73 victory Thursday night to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, J.R. took a shot at his former squad, the Knicks.

Smith posted a split-screen Instagram meme of himself and teammate Iman Shumpert looking dejected on the Knicks' bench and overjoyed in Cavaliers' jerseys surrounded by the words, "One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure." It also included Smith's caption of, "Couldn't have said it better myself!!!"

Smith and Shumpert have played revived basketball since the Knicks shipped them out of New York this past January as part of a three-team trade with the Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Smith's meme Thursday night only kicked the Knicks while they are down. As if Knicks' fans aren't in enough pain following a franchise-worst 17-65 finish this season. But somewhere in New York City right now, there's an entire contingent of Knicks' fans thinking, "If only you played this consistently in orange and blue."
