Gilbert Arenas destroyed his own car just to prove a point.
TMZ Sports obtained a 2014 recording of Arenas ruining the Mercedez Benz, driven by his ex Laura Govan, because he couldn’t remember his Netflix password.
Arenas says he vandalized the vehicle after Govan, the mother of his children, busted out 34 windows in his Calabasas, Calif., mansion, and threw his laptop in the pool (the password was auto-saved on the computer).
It’s unclear why he didn’t just change the password and carry on with his day, but in the recording, Arenas launches a concrete block at the luxury sports car breaking the left headlight. “See how much I care?” he says walking over to the right side of the vehicle and smashing the headlight.
In an effort to beat TMZ to the punch, Arenas posted the video to his Instagram account today, along with some back story. “In #March2014 she came to my calabasas house and broke EVERY SINGLE WINDOW so I decided too show her I'll break my OWN s**t before she does,” he said explaining that the Benz and Corvette seen in the video are both his. “When someone breaks 34 windows...it's#DOYOUBRODY but when she toss ur #3 monitor computer in the pool, you're like HELL MUTHA F***N NAW, I don't remember my #Netflix password it was auto saved, you piece of s**t. u take a person #Netflix away, nothing else matters.”
Arenas and Govan appear to be in a custody battle following their split this year. The ex-pro athlete says Govan wants over a quarter of a million dollars per month and is intent on destroying his image out of retaliation. “On a serious note this is kinda sad....I now get my kids every wensday [sic] and every other weekend, joint custody and 50/50 summer......but I guess when u want $244k a month and 1 day a month visitation and don't get it...you'll spend ur days trying to destroy the other parent [sic] image so u can get full custody. ”
