LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings and three of his Tigers teammates were arrested by campus police on Thursday.
According to the The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La., Jennings, cornerback Dwayne Thomas and defensive lineman Maquedius Bain were arrested on unauthorized entry charges for entering someone's home. Earlier in the day, defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao was arrested and charged with simple battery and simple robbery.
LSU team spokesman Michael Bonnette told The Advocate that the two incidents are unrelated and Tigers coach Les Miles added that all four players have been suspended indefinitely while the football program is still gathering details.
“We are still working with campus housing and the authorities to determine what exactly took place,” Miles said in a statement to the newspaper. “This is an ongoing investigation and our players will cooperate fully.”
After being booked in East Baton Rouge Parish prison, Jennings, Thomas and Bain each posted bail and exited the prison in Tigers gear. However, Lealaimatafao remains in jail, yet to have posted his $15,000 bail.
After throwing for 1,611 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season, Jennings was expected to compete for LSU's starting QB job this season.
