Report: Mavericks Likely to Lure DeAndre Jordan
This DeAndre Jordan to the Dallas Mavericks rumor continues to have legs.
An ESPN report claims that the Los Angeles Clippers fear of the Mavs' chances at luring away their center to Dallas than that of the Los Angeles Lakers or New York Knicks.
Mavericks small forward Chandler Parsons reportedly met with Jordan in Houston, Jordan's hometown, last weekend, before traveling to Los Angeles following Thursday night's NBA Draft to spend more time with the Clippers center. Parsons and Jordan are represented by the same agent, Dan Fegan.
Jordan, 26, is coming off a 2014-15 season in which he averaged career highs in points (11.5) and rebounds (15) with 2.2 blocks per game. Clippers coach Doc Rivers thought Jordan deserved to be an All-Star.
If the Mavericks are unsuccessful at luring Jordan to Dallas, they can opt to aggressively go after LaMarcus Aldridge in free agency or re-sign veteran center Tyson Chandler.
The Clippers blew a 3-1 Western Conference semifinals lead over the Houston Rockets before being eliminated in the series this past postseason.
Earlier this month, the Clippers landed Lance Stephenson by trading forwards Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes to the Charlotte Hornets.
