Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Gives Props to Dez Bryant for Aligning With Jay Z

Billionaire credits wide receiver for choosing to be represented by rapper and Roc Nation Sports.

Negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant were looking dicey with the star wide receiver even telling the franchise that he'd skip training camp and sit out games if they didn't extend his contract by Wednesday's deadline.

Well, they eventually reached a five-year, $70 million contract extension with $45 million guaranteed and the Cowboys' owner believes Jay Z is a big reason why.

Calling Bryant from New York, Jones congratulated the wideout on his new contract before giving him props for aligning himself with Hov and Roc Nation Sports.

"My hat's off to you," Jones told Bryant on Thursday, in footage obtained by TMZ Sports. "You did a good job associating yourself with Jay Z. He's wonderful, I spent hours with him last night."

Jay and the Roc Nation Sports team definitely deserve a salute, considering that Bryant's $45 million in guaranteed money was the largest amount of guaranteed cash a wide receiver ever pocketed in NFL contract history. That and the fact that Jay Z is also a die-hard Cowboys fan makes this a win-win.

Bryant, 26, led the league in touchdowns received, with 16, in 2014. See a clip from the call between Jones and Bryant in the video below.
