Royals Players Fining Each Other for Not Referencing Fetty Wap in Interviews

Kansas City stars must mention the rapper's "1738" phrase while speaking with press.

The Kansas City Royals are big fans of Fetty Wap.

The Kansas City Star is reporting that Royals players are fining each other for failing to randomly work "1738" into their interviews with the media. Fetty declares "1738" at the start of his hit "Trap Queen" to rep his crew, Remy Boyz 1738.

Well, the Royals have taken off with it.

It has apparently been going on for some time in the Royals' clubhouse, but the media has just picked up on it this week.

For example, this is how Royals star Lorenzo Cain responded when asked about Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer, possibly tipping the media off to the 1738 games.

Fetty's a star in Kansas City!
