Russell Wilson finally got the payday he was coveting for so long.

The fourth-year quarterback and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $87.6 million, including $60 million guaranteed, sources confirmed to ESPN on Friday.

Wilson, 26, was scheduled to make $1.54 million in 2015, the fourth and final year of his original rookie contract. Instead, he's now in the company of Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers as the highest-paid NFL player, with an average annual salary of nearly $22 million.

After winning Rookie of the Year in 2012, Wilson led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowls, with Seattle winning in 2014 and losing this past February. He's also a two-time Pro Bowler.

Wilson is coming off a 2014 season in which he threw for 3,475 yards, 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions while rushing for 849 yards and six more scores on the ground.

The Seahawks came within seconds of winning Super Bowl XLIX, but lost due to a widely maligned play call, in which Seattle chose to throw on a goal-line possession from the one-yard line, resulting in a game-ending interception.
