Kobe Bryant Says This Could Be His Last Season

Five-time NBA champion will likely make call next summer.

This will be Kobe Bryant's 20th — and possibly final — season of his NBA career.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports, the five-time NBA champion and 17-time All-Star admitted that the upcoming 2015-16 season could be the last chapter of his legendary career.

“We haven’t set anything in stone and I’ve talked about it before. But could this be the last [season]? Absolutely. It’s tough to decide," Bryant said. "It’s really tough to make those types of decisions. Players I have spoken to say, ‘Kobe, you will know.’

“I’m making this very simple," he added. "Either I like playing the game and going through this process or I don’t. I try to strip it down to the simplest form. Either I like playing some more or I don’t. But I think that decision needs to be made after the season. It’s hard to make a decision like that before the season.”

Weeks away from turning 37, Bryant also mentioned that he's feeling "good" and that one of the keys for the Los Angeles Lakers this season will be how quickly rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell and 2014 draft pick Julius Randle come along and are able to consistently produce at a high level.

Bryant averaged 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game last season before suffering a season-ending torn rotator cuff in his shoulder in January.
