Russell Wilson Grants Dying Girl's Wish to Become Her Godfather

Seahawks quarterback's blog recounts sad story.

When he's not on the field leading the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson spends plenty of his time at the Seattle Children's Hospital bringing cheer to some of his young, devoted fans.

All you'd need to do is take a look at the star quarterback's Instagram account to realize just how many youngsters Wilson meets. He has been doing it for so long that his girlfriend Ciara has even gotten into it, joining him on his hospital visits.

Well, according to his blog, they recently met Ailynn, a little girl battling something severe, who asked Wilson to be her godfather. The Super Bowl champion didn't hesitate to say yes, as documented on his Instagram.

However, shortly after granting Aylinn's wish, Wilson received a message Wednesday morning that the little girl had passed away.

"It's Aylinn's sister. Aylinn unfortunately died at 3:00 a.m.," the message to Wilson read. "Thanks for always making her happy, we appreciate it."

Wilson was happy to have met the young lady and vows that the Seahawks rabid fan base, also known as the 12th man, will celebrate her life for the rest of this season.
