John Wall Donates $400,000 to Homeless Children
John Wall has already dished out a big assist and the NBA season hasn't even tipped off yet.
Over the weekend, the Washington Wizards' All-Star point guard made a $400,000 donation to Bright Beginnings, a child-development center that aids homeless children and families, in Washington D.C.
Bright Beginnings executive director, Dr. Betty Jo Gaines said Wall's generous donation will go toward the development of its second child development center. It will also name a classroom in Wall's honor.
“Support from individuals like Mr. Wall, gives Bright Beginnings the encouragement to continue to provide comprehensive services for homeless children in the District of Columbia," Gaines wrote on the center's Facebook page. "It is evident that John Wall is sensitive and concerned about the plight of homeless children in DC and he wants theses children to succeed.”
As many assists as the point guard dishes this upcoming 2015-16 season, he'll be hard-pressed to match this one.
Bright Beginnings' new child development center is scheduled to open in 2017.
