Damontre Moore Cut From New York Giants Over a Pair of Headphones

Team releases DE after fight about Beats by Dre.

Damontre Moore has been cut from the New York Giants for pulling an embarrassing rookie move. The third round draft pick was let go from the team after he got into a fight with fellow Giant Cullen Jenkins because — try not to laugh too hard — he didn't receive Beats by Dre headphones like the other players.

Beats-gate may just be the straw that broke the camel's back, though. Some sources say that the cut is long overdue, with Moore frequently displaying "behavior and maturity issues" during his entire three-year NFL stint. Guess those rumors turned out to be true.

TWITTER REACTS TO KOBE BRYANT'S RETIREMENT

Moore called into ESPN Radio New York the following morning to confirm the altercation, stating, "I definitely could have handled it better by just obviously walking away." This sounds like a classic case of too little, too late, but at least Moore owned up to his costly mistake. While he hasn't spoken with Jenkins since the incident, he expresses, "no animosity, no ill feelings" toward his former teammate, and wishes his former team "successful prosperity."

We get that quality headphones are expensive, but with an NFL contract you would think he could just, you know, buy his own pair. Now that he's unemployed, however, charging pricey gadgets to his credit card may not be such a good idea.
