Le'Veon Bell was suspended for the first three games of the 2015 NFL season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy over a marijuana possession arrest in August 2014.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers' star running back and his former teammate LeGarrette Blount were stopped, Bell reportedly told the police officer, "I didn't know you could get a DUI for being high. I smoked two hours ago. I'm not high anymore. I'm perfectly fine."
The incident was definitely a low point for the 24-year-old and it appears as if the NFL wants to make sure he's staying clean.
On Wednesday, which was the weed-friendly 420 of all days, Bell jumped onto his Twitter account to reveal that he was subjected to a "random" drug test. All Le'Veon could do was laugh off the "random" timing.
Could the NFL be any more obvious? When a concerned Steelers' fan conveyed that he hopes Bell was clean this time, Le'Veon told him there's nothing to be nervous about.
It definitely feels like the NFL was trying to ring Bell and catch him up in smoke.
Glad to see Le'Veon isn't worried.
