To this day, the sight of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée and knocking her out cold in an elevator is permanently etched in our minds.
Rice hasn't played in the NFL since the disturbing footage was released in September 2014.
In an interview with Matt Lauer from NBC's Today Show in December 2014, Janay Rice said she felt it was God's plan for the couple to have gone through the ordeal they did.
"I feel like God chose me and Ray for a reason and it was definitely to bring awareness to what people are going through every day," Janay said at the time about their incident highlighting domestic violence across the country.
Well, it's happier times now, as Janay took to her Instagram account over the weekend, as reported by TMZ Sports, to reveal that,"Yup, we will now be a family of 4!" She added that she's currently 21 weeks pregnant. Ray and Janay already have a four-year-old daughter named Rayven. Good for them.
It remains to be seen whether this is the year that an NFL team gives Ray a shot. At 29 years old, Ray hasn't played in the league since December 2013.
