[Love And Basketball] Here's How Steph Curry Originally Shot and Missed With Ayesha
Most of the time when Stephen Curry shoots, he doesn't miss.
But there was a time — well before he won an NBA MVP and championship — that Curry shot, missed... and wound up right in the friend zone.
His wife, Ayesha Curry, recently told the story about Steph's first kiss attempt gone wrong to Parents magazine.
“He was in mid-conversation and came flying at my face like a thief in the night,” Ayesha told the publication, detailing the story about when they hung out in Los Angeles years after knowing each other in high school and even being in the same youth church group. “So I was like, 'no.' Then I thought, 'Oh, I didn’t know this is what was happening.'"
But leave it to the Splash Brother to shoot his way out of the friend zone as well.
Ayesha went on to reveal that the two would share their first kiss in Steph's parents' driveway, which was also the place that the NBA superstar would propose to her years later.
“The plan was to act like we were going to a family cookout. So we pulled up to the house, and I stopped in the middle of the driveway, got down on my knee, and went into my spiel,” Steph told the publication. “Little did I know the whole family was looking out the window, videotaping the moment.”
Chef Curry with the pot, boy. Steph for the win!
He certainly redeemed himself.
