Look: Here's How Team USA Basketball Players Ended Up At A Brothel In Brazil

A serious miscommunication went down.

Several members of the Team USA basketball team experienced a bit of culture shock in Brazil this past week.

As reported by TMZ, players DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, DeMar Derozan and a few other superstar players mistook a brothel for a spa Wednesday night (August 3).

It appears as though the miscommunication may have taken place because of the brothel keeping its illegal activity as private as possible.

Rolling Stone has referred to the location in question, Termas Monte Carlo, as “one of the high end brothels in Rio” in the past, and that’s exactly where the players accidentally stumbled into. Turns out, it’s advertised as a “spa that plays music” and is only designed for “male customers.”

A source close to the team said that they believed the business to be what they were expecting, so they were all in for a surprise when they realized what was going on inside its closed doors.

“They realized it wasn’t the right place for them and immediately left,” the source confirmed.

So all in all, it looks as though no harm, no foul this time around but hopefully some lessons have been learned to pay a bit more attention when in a foreign land, especially during the Olympics no less.
