Watch: A Dutch Cyclist Suffered a Horrific Accident at the Olympics

Updates on her condition.

Painful weekend in Rio for the 2016 Olympics.

A day after French gymnast Samir Ait Said fractured his leg on the vault Saturday, Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten suffered a freak crash that left her concussed with three fractured vertebrae, as reported by Reuters.

The 33-year-old van Vleuten was in the lead when she lost control at a curve, sending her airborne to a devastating crash landing.

This is painful to watch.

Spectators in Rio were left in shock over what they witnessed.

Van Vleuten sounded more disappointed not being able to finish the race than in pain from her injuries afterward.

Tough lady.

If there's one cyclist who can come back from injuries, it's this one from the Netherlands. Reuters reported that she suffered three broken ribs, a fractured collarbone and collapsed lung in a training accident last year and battled back just to make these Olympic Games.

Hopefully she makes another full recovery this time.
