The Unbelievable Story of Ex-NFLer Rae Caruth and Son He Tried to Kill's Possible Reunion

In 1999, he hired a hit man to shoot a then-pregnant Cherica Adams.

Back in 1999, former NFL player Rae Carruth made a decision that landed him behind bars when he reacted to the news of Cherica Adams getting pregnant by way of hiring a hitman.

He reportedly wasn't interested in being a father at the time, nor in paying child support, and now, just under two decades after attempting to kill his unborn son, the two just might be having a reunion once Carruth completes his prison sentence.

The attack, organized by the former Carolina Panther wide receiver years ago, resulted in the death of Adams, and their son surviving, but not without complications. Their son, Chancellor, lives with cerebral palsy and is now 17 years old.

The boy's grandmother, Saundra Adams, reportedly wants to arrange a meeting between the convicted murderer and his son.

“Maybe I can just talk to him and tell him some important things about what his son his doing,” the grandmother and caretaker shared with reporters. She currently is planning on making contact with Carruth in the next year, prior to his release in 2018, to discuss the possible reunion.

Listen to Shaundra Adams explaining in further detail why she wants the two to meet in person in the video clip below.
