DeMarcus Cousins stays rocking that menacing scowl with one of the meanest games in the NBA to match.
But on Monday night, while hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Sacramento Kings' All-Star center truly lived up to his Boogie nickname, getting into a brief shoving match with Kevin Durant and nearly punching Thunder center Steven Adams.
The drama started within the first five minutes of the first quarter, when Cousins's teammate Quincy Acy was trash talking with KD and Cousins stepped in, getting in Durant's face with the superstars shoving each other a little bit. No harm, no foul. It happens.
But as the game went on, things only became more chippy, as Cousins got tangled up with Adams, who held onto Boogie's foot after a rebound attempt early in the fourth quarter.
With his anger level reaching red-hot levels, Cousins held back a punch to the back of Adams's head. Had he connected... he would have gotten at least a 10-game suspension, if not more. Count on that. Sheesh!
Despite dropping 35 points — and nearly KD and Adams in the process — the Thunder scored a win over his Kings.
Leave Boogie alone, though.
At 6-foot-11, 270 pounds, Cousins shouldn't be tried on or off any NBA court.
