DJ Khaled's Make From Beyond The Arch Highlighted The All-Star 3-Point, Dunk Contests

Everyone reacted as Eric Gordon and Glenn Robinson III won the 3-point and dunk contests, respectively.

Saturday’s festivities for the 2017 edition of NBA All-Star Weekend were memorable, but perhaps not for who won what.

  • Houston Rockets shooting guard Eric Gordon took home the 3-point title after edging out Cleveland Cavaliers point guard and flat earth theory-believing Kyrie Irving by three points in the final round while Indiana Pacers forward Glenn Robinson III beat out Derrick Jones Jr. of the Phoenix Suns.

That was, however, nowhere as impressive as DJ Khaled’s 3-point drain during a newly introduced three point contest that helped raise $500,000 towards recently deceased broadcaster Craig Sager’s Sager Strong Foundation.

Khaled was joined by Reggie Miller, WNBA center Candace Parker, Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden, Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, actors Michael B. Jordan and Anthony Anderson and newly crowned Three Point Contest champion Eric Gordon who all contributed to earning $130,000 ($10K per make) to the cause, which was pushed to half-a-mill when Shaquille O'Neal assisted Sager’s son on an honorary dunk. From the looks of it, everyone sunk at least one basket except the two actors.

Oh yeah, Stephen Curry was recruited to make a few half-court shots to help with the cause but he missed them all (which is understandable).

Reaction to Khaled’s 3-point make, as well as the 3-point and dunk contests was expectedly great. “2017: the NBA dunk contest as dystopian future filled with surveillance drones and DJ Khaled as America's most complete artist,” someone wrote. “Best thing of the All Star so far was DJ Khaled hitting that 3 point shot,” another person tweeted.

Check out what happened as well as reaction to it below.
