Twitter Is Bugging Out Over Kyrie Irving Saying He Didn't Owe LeBron An Explanation

"Why would I have to?"

Aside from speaking after being introduced by the Boston Celtics earlier this month, Kyrie Irving has kept relatively mum about requesting a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers and his overall relationship with LeBron James.

Searching for answers, ESPN's First Take had Irving on as a surprise guest today, and the show's stars, Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman, didn't hesitate from firing pressing questions at the All-Star point guard.

But the real savagery came when Smith asked Kyrie if he spoke to King James before he requested a trade from the Cavs, with Irving simply responding, "No," with zero chill whatsoever.

Irving followed that by asking, "Why would I have to?"

Wow.

Smith explained that if you don't speak to someone about something like that they could take it personal, before asking, "Do you care about that at all?"

To that, Irving responded, "Nooo," while grinning.

Twitter lost it over Kyrie's savage AF disregard in not feeling like he owed LeBron, his teammate for the past three years, an explanation for requesting a trade.

  • Kyrie Had Absolutely Zero Chill In Saying 'No' when asked if he spoke to LeBron before requesting a trade

And that savage AF response drove Twitter crazy.

  • The whole time Kyrie was answering Stephen A.'s questions, he was like ...

Young savage, why you trapping so hard?

  • Many think that although Kyrie danced around questions about LeBron, his feelings about the King were summed up here

    Quite possibly so.

  • Kyrie Wanted to let Bron know ...

    Damn!

  • Kyrie's nonchalant reaction reminded some of that infamous Cavs timeout

    #Facts.

  • But good lord, did Uncle Drew dodge questions during this interview, like when Kellerman asked him point blank, 'Did you no longer want to play with LeBron James?'

Slipping and sliding those hard-hitting questions, huh, Kyrie?

  • Some people do feel like Kyrie not giving LeBron an explanation is a bit overblown

That's one way to look at it.

  • Lebron fans just want Kyrie to understand that ...

Yes, Irving and his Celtics will face King James and the Cavaliers back in The Land to tip off the 2017-18 season on October 17. This interview should add some instant fuel to this brewing fire between the two.
