In the Heat of the Moment

As the NBA playoffs continue to heat up, BET.com looks back at the tally of flagrant fouls as of May 21, 2012. For those who don't know, flagrant fouls are defined as excessive or violent contact committed by a player against an opponent that could injure the fouled player, after which the opposing team is awarded two free throws and possession of the ball. Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, right, was initially handed a flagrant foul against the San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker (not pictured) on May 17, but it has since been rescinded (a photo of the incident was not available).
