Hall of Famer Curtis Martin was drafted by New England in 1995 and became the first Patriots player to rush for 100 yards in his pro debut. But after his third season as a restricted free agent, he signed a deal with the Jets, which included a “poison-pill” clause that could send him back to the Patriots after one year. He remained on the Jets until he retired in July 2007.
