Vladimir Guerrero Retires as an Angel
Vladimir Guerrero signed a one-day contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to retire Monday with the team he played for from 2004-09. The slugger hit .319 and averaged 29 home runs per year for the Angels. In a bizarre twist, baseball great and current Angels hitting coach Don Baylor broke his leg while catching the ceremonial first pitch by Guerrero. Baylor was helped off the field and taken to the UCI Medical Center and diagnosed with a fractured right femur.
