Carmelo Anthony Wants to Stay in New York, but Wants to Win

Carmelo Anthony is making his intentions clear—he sorely wants to win, but isn’t thrilled with the idea of his New York Knicks undergoing a long-term rebuilding. "I want to come back. But I also want to win," Anthony told ESPN on Thursday. "You know, me wanting to be here, if we can put ourselves in position to at least compete at a high level over the course of [the next contract], then I'm willing to stay here and I'm willing to ride or die for New York. At this point in my career, it’s about winning. Nothing else even matters.” The Knicks can offer Anthony a five-year contract worth just over $129 million, more than any other NBA team can offer.
