Best and Worst Case Scenarios for 2014 NFL Draftees

How things could pan out for these big name rookies.

Chicago to Host 2015 NFL Draft  - The NFL Draft will have a change of scenery from New York City next year. That’s because the 2015 draft will be held at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago from April 30 to May 2, as confirmed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Thursday. "Chicago is pleased to welcome the 2015 NFL draft to America's heartland," Emanuel said in a statement, as reported by ESPN. "Next year, NFL fans from across the country will travel here or tune in as the future of their team is decided in Chicago." (Photo: Cliff Hawkins/Getty Images)

How Will 2014 NFL Draftees Pan Out? - With the 2014 NFL Draft in the history books, it's time for the draftees to begin building thier NFL legacy. Many questions linger after an action-packed NFL Draft. Will Jadeveon Clowney be every bit of the dominant pass rusher the league expects him to be? Just how dynamic will Johnny Manziel be? How will Michael Sam's NFL career pan out? These questions and more will be answered this season and in years to come. Click on for BET.com's forecast of the best and worst case scenarios for several noteworthy 2014 NFL draftees. Boom or bust?(Photo: Cliff Hawkins/Getty Images)

Jadeveon Clowney – 1st Overall Pick, Houston Texans - Best Case Scenario: Clowney lives up to being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft and everything that comes along with it, becoming a pass-rush force with J.J. Watt and terrorizing quarterbacks all year long. Basically, the best-case scenario is Clowney leaving no doubts that he was the right and only No. 1 pick in the 2014 Draft. Would a 16-sack season, or one sack per game, be asking for too much? We think it's within reason for the top dog. Worst Case Scenario: Clowney struggles, needs years to become an adequate bookend with Watt, and isn’t dominant as advertised. Houston…we have a problem.(Photo: Bob Levey/Getty Images)

Browns Teammate Suggests Manziel Needs "Phone Valet" - Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden knows how rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel can limit footage of him partying from leaking out — a “phone valet.” "Johnny needs to check his friends a little bit,” Haden told ESPN. "Everybody is going to go out and have a good time. You gotta make sure when you're with your people, it just doesn't get out. He's going to have a good time, but a lot of things need to be taken away. You need to have a phone valet — tell your friends to put your phones away. We're going to go out but don't record." (Photo: Jason Miller/Getty Images)

Johnny Manziel – 22nd Overall Pick, Cleveland Browns - Best Case Scenario: Johnny Football’s electrifying college football game translates to the NFL as he quickly becomes one of the brightest young stars that the league has to offer. For Johnny Football mania to truly take off in Cleveland, we think he needs to be a Day 1 starter, play all 16 regular season games and boast a strong touchdown/interception ratio and overall high QB rating.Worst Case Scenario: Manziel stubbornly and unwisely tries to force the issue on the field, over improvises and become an injury-prone QB.(Photo: Jason Miller/Getty Images)

Michael Sam – 249th Overall Pick, St. Louis Rams - Best Case Scenario: Sam proves all naysayers wrong and not only makes the Rams squad, but becomes a key player and contributor on the team’s defensive line. His name becomes synonymous with being a solid football player over being the first openly gay football player. Worst Case Scenario: Sam doesn’t make the team, gets cut before season starts. (Photo: Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Sammy Watkins - Song: "Look What You've Done" – DrakeLooks like the NFL has went and drafted a beast on the field, as Sammy Watkins will take his golden hands to Buffalo. "Is this s--t real? Should I pinch you?" Drake asks in this song pick.(Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Sammy Watkins – 4th Overall Pick, Buffalo Bills - Best Case Scenario: Becomes the game-breaking speed demon receiver that quarterback E.J. Manuel needs as his main weapon in the Buffalo Bills' offense. If Watkins becomes a real red zone threat (7-10 TDs) that would be huge. Worst Case Scenario: Watkins doesn’t rapidly become a weapon and makes Bills fans wish they chose University of Buffalo product Khalil Mack with the fourth pick in the NFL Draft instead. (Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Blake Bortles – 3rd Overall Pick, Jacksonville Jaguars - Best Case Scenario: Bortles has been compared to Ben Roethlisberger a lot and if he plays lke Big Ben did in his rookie season (13-0 record), then Jacksonville looks wise making him the first quarterback taken in the 2014 NFL Draft. Realistically, leading the Jags to an 8-8 record would be a vast success for Bortles. Worst Case Scenario: Bortles is Blake Gabbert bad and leads the Jags to another top five pick in the draft.(Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Teddy Bridgewater – 32nd Overall Pick, Minnesota Vikings - Best Case Scenario: He makes teams pay for passing him over in the first round — he dropped to the 32nd overall pick — by developing into a winning NFL quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. Having a running game with Adrian Peterson should help open up the passing lanes for Bridgewater. Worst Case Scenario: He never grasps the Vikings offense and is stuck as a thrid-string backup in his rookie season. (Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Khalil Mack - Song: "Happy" – Pharrell WilliamsKhalil Mack might be a beast on the field, but Oakland's new linebacker was ecstatic about making it into the league. What clearer song to describe that emotion than "Happy"?(Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Khalil Mack – 5th Overall Pick, Oakland Raiders - Best Case Scenario: Mack dominates off the edge and gets to know as many NFL quarterbacks up close and personal on Sundays. The former Buffalo University product’s tenacious attitude rubs off on the Raiders organization and he leads the Silver 'n' Black back to respectability.Worst Case Scenario: Mack isn’t ready for the big time just yet and was overhyped and over advertised coming out of a Division II college football program. (Photo: Elsa/Getty Images)

Derek Carr – 36th Overall Pick, Oakland Raiders - Best Case Scenario: Wins the starting quarterback job with the Raiders and shows that his 5,000-plus passing yards and eye-popping 50 touchdown passes at Fresno State last season was not a fluke. He's not going to get a 50-touchdown season, but 20 TD passes in his rookie year as starter would be nice. Worst Case Scenario: Loses out on the Raiders’ starting job and never develops into a starter, leaving him in the abyss of the Raiders’ Black Hole. (Photo: Joe Robbins/Getty Images)
