Still Got It: Star Athletes 35 and Over

Father Time hasn't been able to catch up with these stars.

Kobe Bryant Passes Michael Jordan - At 36 and coming off two major injuries — achilles rupture and knee fracture — it's pretty amazing that Kobe Bryant is in the top five of NBA in scoring with 25 points per game. The five-time champion reached another milestone in his storied career on Sunday when he passed Michael Jordan for third on the NBA all-time scoring list. Even in his nineteenth season Bryant is still impacting the sport he loves...but he's not the only veteran doing so. Floyd Mayweather - When it comes to aging athletes 35 and over, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is untouchable. Literally. The boxing great remains undefeated with a 47-0 record with 26 knockouts. Turning 38 in February, we'll see if Money can make it over the next two fights still unbeaten and, if that happens, possibly end his career with one more fight and a 50-0 record.   (Photo: Al Bello/Getty Images)

Manny Pacquiao - Manny Pacquiao will hit 36 on December 17. He hopes to be hitting Floyd Mayweather Jr. flush in the face if the fight that the world wants to see finally happens. It's only right that boxing fans get to see the two best fighters of this generation in the ring. (Photo: Chris Hyde/Getty Images)

Tim Duncan - Credit San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich with monitoring Tim Duncan's minutes over the year and preserving one of the best NBA players of all time. Duncan, who will be 39 by the time the playoffs start, is still getting it done with 14 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game in just under 30 minutes per contest. Will he get his sixth championship ring?  (Photo: Chris Covatta/Getty Images)

Manu Ginobili - Tim Duncan isn't the only 35-and-over star on the San Antonio Spurs. Manu Ginobili has been there for four championship runs and he too is still getting it done on the court with 11.4 points and four assists per game. (Photo: Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)

Dirk Nowitzki - Is Dirk Nowitzki not the best shooting big man that the NBA has ever seen? The Dallas Mavericks power forward remains one of the most skilled players in the league, having recently passed Hakeem Olajuwon as No. 9 on the NBA's all-time scoring list. At 36, he's still dropping nearly 20 points per game, giving defenses as much trouble as when he was in his 20s.(Photo: Scott Halleran/Getty Images)

Tom Brady - There's no denying the greatness of Tom Brady. A three-time Super Bowl champion and still putting that work in as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Hey, the numbers don't lie. At 37, Brady still ranks in the top 10 amongst QBs in passing yards and touchdowns thrown this season. Oh yeah, his New England Patriots are also looking like the team to beat in the AFC yet again.  (Photo: Jared Wickerham/Getty Images)

Peyton Manning - At 38, Peyton Manning is still impacting the NFL in a major way. He's on pace to toss another 40-plus touchdowns this season while leading the the Denver Broncos back to the playoffs for a shot at the Super Bowl. Although a Super Bowl win would stamp Manning's legacy further, there's no doubting his place as arguably the best QB that ever did it. And is still doing it. (Photo: Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

Drew Brees - Yes, the New Orleans Saints are struggling this season, but look up at the NFL's quarterback leaders and you'll see a familiar name. Drew Brees is fifth in passing yards with 3,983 this season, trailing the leader Andrew Luck (4492) by 509 yards. Crazy to think that Brees is 35 to Luck's 25. Still getting it done!  (Photo: Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)

David Ortiz - David Ortiz doesn't merely still have something to offer. "Big Papi" is still a force in Major League Baseball — be clear. The longtime Boston Red Sox slugger hit 35 home runs and 104 RBI this past season, reaching his highest totals in seven years. And he did all that at 38, having just turned 39 last month. What will he have to offer in 2015? One of the best designated hitters of all time.(Photo: Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

Bernard Hopkins - When it comes to age and sports, Bernard Hopkins is like a bottle of fine wine. With the exception of getting obliterated by Sergey Kovalev last month, B-Hop has made a career at defeating younger opponents and altering the course of their careers (Hey, Felix Trinidad, Kelly Pavlik). It's amazing to think the man is one month shy of 50 and still better than most. What a career.(Photo: Drew Hallowell/Getty Images)
