Tweet Sheet: Reaction to 'Black Monday' in the NFL

The Twitter chatter surrounding the head coach firings.

Several Coaches Fired on NFL's Black Monday - The day after every NFL season ends has become known as "Black Monday," for all the coaches who get axed. The Black Monday following the 2014 NFL season brought much grim news as the Rex Ryan of the New York Jets, Marc Trestman (Chicago Bears), Mike Smith (Atlanta Falcons) and Jim Harbaugh (San Francisco 49ers) were all let go by their teams. The Jets and Bears also terminated their general managers as well. The pink slips generated heavy Twitter reaction, setting the social media avenue ablaze. Here, BET.com gathers tweets from the NFL community and some celebrity fans.(Photos from left: Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images, Jeff Zelevansky/Getty Images, Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)

Skip Bayless, @RealSkipBayless - The opinionated ESPN personality brings up a good point. Rex Ryan still has a brilliant defensive mind. If an organization takes care of the offensive end and leaves the defense to Rex, Ryan can still cook up in the NFL. (Photo: Skip Bayless via Twitter)

Ian Rapoport, @RapSheet - Like this NFL Network insider points out, Rex Ryan could enjoy a successful career in television. Mike Greenberg, @Espngreeny - ESPN's Greeny might be right. Jim Harbaugh is no slouch. His San Francisco 49ers coaching tenure might be over, but expect the University of Michigan's football program to be among the nation's best.(Photo: Mike Greenberg via Twitter)
