49ers Sign Kaepernick to $110 Million Extension

Call it a well-deserved upgrade for Colin Kaepernick. The San Francisco 49ers and their star quarterback struck a deal Wednesday on a six-year contract extension worth more than $110 million, according to ESPN. A record $61 million of the contract is guaranteed, and his signing bonus will be $12 million. Kaepernick, who led the 49ers to the NFC Championship game last season, was scheduled to make just over $1 million this season. Now, he has an extension in place that will take him through the 2020 season. Kaepernick had his best season in 2013, throwing for 3,197 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 524 yards and four TDs. (Photo: Christian Petersen/Getty Images)
