LeBron’s “Wheels for Education” - NBA star LeBron James will be riding for his community in August as part of his annual “Wheels for Education” bike-a-thon through his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Accompanying him on the 2.6 mile ride, set to take place Aug. 8, will be 20 lucky high school students. In addition to the bike-a-thon, the program will feature a two-week camp focusing on reading and technology for 360 rising third graders. "We're looking to continue to create awareness for these young kids," James, who founded the bike event in 2005, told the Associated Press. Tiger Woods Will Skip British Open - Tiger Woods announced Tuesday that he won’t play in next week’s British Open due to the injuries to his left leg. “As I stated at the AT&T National, I am only going to come back when I’m 100 percent ready,” he said in a statement posted to his Web site. “I’m very disappointed and want to express my regrets to the British Open fans.” This is the second major he missed this season due to injuries.(Photo: AP Photo/Matt Rourke, file)

Nike Re-signs Michael Vick - Nearly four years after terminating their contract with him due to his dog-fighting charges, Nike has re-signed Philadelphia Eagle quarterback Michael Vick Friday. "Michael acknowledges his past mistakes," Nike said in a statement. "We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field."
