Michael Jordan Could Lure Chris Paul to the Bobcats - During an interview Tuesday, Chris Paul, the New Orleans Hornets’ star guard, said that he might consider signing with the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Bobcats in 2012 because he still looks up to the basketball legend. "I think guys do and will want to play for MJ," Paul said during an interview with the Associated Press. "Who better to learn from?" Playing for Charlotte would also give Paul the opportunity to return to his home state of North Carolina. But for right now, Paul said he’s only concerned about the upcoming playoffs and trying to win a championship with his current team. (Photo: AP Photo/Nikki Boertman)

Carl Lewis to Run for N.J. Senate - Olympic legend Carl Lewis announced he’s running for a seat in New Jersey’s Senate on Monday. The nine-time gold medalist will be competing for a seat in the state’s 8th legislative district as a Democrat and will face Republican incumbent Sen. Dawn Addiego in elections later this year. "It's time to change the political discourse in New Jersey and around the country," he said. "The people are fed up with their elected officials playing the blame game and treating their political counterparts as enemies." Lewis grew up in New Jersey and bought a home in the state in 2005, which re-established his residency. (Photo: AP Photo/Julio Cortez)

Manny Ramirez Shocks Many by Retiring - In a surprising move, Tampa Bay Rays slugger and 12-time all-star Manny Ramirez retired from baseball Friday after reportedly getting word he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug during this year’s spring training. Ramirez, who just joined the team this season, was suspended for 50 games in 2009 for violating the sport’s anti-doping rules. He would have faced a 100-game ban this season for a second positive test. A third positive test would have resulted in a lifetime ban from baseball.
