A Helping Hand
A 6-year-old fan hoped that offering up the entire contents of his piggy bank — totaling $3.36 — would give the New York Giants enough money to retain running back Brandon Jacobs, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in March. Touched by the earnest gesture, Jacobs posted a shot of the letter, written by the boy’s mother, and the sandwich baggie containing the money on Twitter last week and vowed to treat the young fan to a Chuck E. Cheese play date with his 5-year-old son.
