Jets Start Geno Smith

The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they would start rookie quarterback Geno Smith for the season opener game, when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 8 at the Met Life Stadium. Smith will fill in for quarterback Mark Sanchez, who is recovering from a bruised joint.
